Board of Directors

In 2005 the Sawridge Trustees resolved to appoint an independent Board of Directors to drive the growth of the Sawridge Group of Companies. This departure from traditional management is a testament to the innovation of Sawridge and the confidence in the appointed Directors. Our five person Board is comprised of the following business leaders: 

 

Ralph W. Peterson, Chairman
Mr. Peterson was a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers in various roles including: Managing Partner of the Edmonton Office of Price Waterhouse, Edmonton Market Leader for PricewaterhouseCoopers and thereafter Alberta leader of e-Business Advisory Services. Mr. Peterson served Edmonton Airports as Vice President Finance, and Chief Financial Officer & Corporate Secretary prior to joining GLM Industries as Chief Executive Officer in 2011. Mr. Peterson is a graduate of Wilfred Laurier University with a BBA (Honors), a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (FCIRP).

 

 

The Honourable Gerry St. Germain, Vice Chair 
Gerry St. Germain has spent the last 30 years in public life as a federal Member of Parliament, Cabinet Minister, and 19 years as Senator. His work has focused on bettering the standing of Canada’s Aboriginal people, a cause he championed as chairman of the Standing Senate Committee on Aboriginal Peoples. Prior to entering public life, Gerry led a varied career as a pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force, a policeman, and later as a businessman focusing on real estate development and agriculture in the lower mainland of British Columbia. In 2012, Gerry received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation in recognition of his outstanding service to Canada's Aboriginal community.

 

 

 

Keith Anderson
Mr. Anderson is an independent consultant providing governance, strategy and general management and advisory services to public and private sector organizations. He has extensive experience with First Nations and Aboriginal organizations. Prior to his retirement from PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Anderson was leader of PwC's utility industry practice in Canada. Mr. Anderson holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

 

Ronald Gilbertson
Mr. Gilbertson is a seasoned executive who has held senior executive and Board positions with a number of major corporations. He has served as President and CEO of the Edmonton Economic Development Corporation, Lacent Technologies, and the Edmonton Research Park. He is currently Board Chair of the Alberta Insurance Council and a member of the Alberta Economic Development Authority. Mr. Gilbertson holds a Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Manitoba and a Bachelor of Commerce Honors degree in Economics from the University of Saskatchewan.

 

Dr. Michael Percy
Dr. Michael Percy is an economist with a PhD from Queen’s University. Dr. Percy was Dean of the Alberta School of Business from 1997 to 2011 and remains a Professor of Strategic Management in the School. He currently serves on the Boards of Epcor, K-Bro Linen Systems, the Sawridge Group, Alberta Treasury Branches, and the Western Canadian Military Museum Foundation. He was President of the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce in 2002 and was also a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta from 1993 to 1997 where he served as the Liberal Opposition Finance critic. He was the Chair of the Capital Region United Way Campaign for 2011-12.
