BEST WESTERN PLUS SAWRIDGE SUITES

COVID-19 Health & Safety Measures

The safety and well-being of our guests and staff is our top priority.

Best Western Plus Sawridge Suites has taken every step possible to ensure the safety of their guests and team members, including the housekeeping department following new, deeper cleaning protocols, a second room attendant enters the guest suite after cleaning to disinfect(using Oxivir, the highest rated disinfectant by Health Canada) while having cleaners doing continous disinfection in all common areas.

The Best Western Plus Sawridge Suites is a 151 all-suite hotel in Fort McMurray, Alberta. We cater to both short- and long-term stays. The hotel is known for our attention to detail, their updated common areas and their sizable suites.

Late summer 2020 Paul Jones, the General Manager of the hotel, began discussing a new program with Integral Services Group, the developers of the Integral Surface Protection Program, utilizing AEGIS, by Microban. In September, Paul engaged with Integral to do a hotel-wide application of the program.

ASAP ASAP

We take the health and safety of our staff and guests seriously, which is why we are committed to meeting the safe accommodation promise of the Alberta Hotel & Lodging Association. This means that we comply with the most current public health guidelines, we have practices to minimize the risk of infection, and our staff maintain the highest levels of hygiene and sanitation.

Our Continued Commitment to Your Safety:

We recognize that the COVID-19 virus requires all of us to be more mindful as we go through our regular activities. Guided by our culture and purpose of care we have adjusted our processes to safeguard our staff and customers. Our team is working hard to ensure we meet the latest guidance from the industry on hygiene and cleaning. Our health and safety measures are designed to address a broad spectrum of viruses, including COVID-19, and cover everything from hand-washing hygiene, cleaning product specifications, frequency of sanitization and common area cleaning procedures.

Guest Rooms
Enhanced daily housekeeping procedures are in place. We have reduced the place settings and cookware in each guest suite from four down to two. As each guest departs, every piece of kitchenware is put through the high temperature dishwasher to ensure each item is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. Used and unopened toiletries are discarded. All stationary and other materials including coffee is removed from the rooms but will be offered to guests upon check in. Special sanitization of TV remotes, surfaces and all common touch points are treated with anti-viral sanitizing compounds. Should any guest wish to review our enhanced cleaning procedures, the manager or front desk personnel will happily share with you the efforts we undertake to protect your health and safety.

Fitness Centres
“We apologize for the inconvenience; due to the severity of the virus our fitness centre will be open by appointment only. This allows our team to sanitize properly after each and every guest enters the fitness centre.” To book your appointment simply text our front office team at 587.841.0297.

Cleaning of High Traffic Areas
Front doors, washroom doors, elevators and all high traffic touch points are sanitized on regular intervals. All tables, chairs and menus are cleaned with hospital grade sanitizers between each guest use. Salt and pepper shakers and drink menus will not be left on tables and are sterilized after each use. All small wares and utensils are sanitized between use following Alberta Health Services regulations.

Staff
Staff showing symptoms of cough or fever are not permitted to work. Any staff who have travelled out of the Country are required to self isolate for 14 days and test negative for COVID-19 prior to returning to work. Our staff are hand washing every 30 minutes or whenever gloves are changed out. Gloves are changed after cleaning. Gloves are changed again as the staff leave the guest suite. A second staff member with new gloves then enters the suite to sanitize the suite. Our staff sanitize the guest room door handles multiple times throughout the day and into the evening. Alberta Health Services also recommends our guests frequently wash their hands. Hand washing instructions are posted at all sinks.

Cancellation Policy
All reservations unless they are advance purchases must be cancelled 24 hours prior to day of arrival. Failure to cancel your reservation and acquire a cancellation number will result in your credit card being charged for one night room and taxes.
